Brazil’s Egg Exports Decline for Second Straight Month
Sep, 12, 2024 Posted by Sylvia SchandertWeek 202437
Brazil’s commercial egg exports saw another decline in August, marking the second consecutive month of decrease. This negative performance was mainly driven by reduced shipments of processed products, such as ovalbumin and dried or cooked eggs, sectors that experienced significant drops.
According to data provided by Cepea based on Secex statistics, Brazil exported 1.239 million tonnes of fresh and processed eggs last month, representing a 4.7% decrease compared to July and a substantial 42% reduction compared to August 2023. Of these exports, only 24.6% (equivalent to 305 tonnes) were processed products, the lowest percentage recorded since December 2022.
