The Port Authority of Santos (APS) has completed the dredging work to deepen the berths between warehouses 12A and 20/21 at the Port of Santos. The completion of this project involved the removal of approximately 100,000 cubic meters of sediment and 500 cubic meters of jet-grouting residue (a harder material remaining from the structural reinforcement of the berths), ensuring a depth of 14.60 meters and enabling the docking of larger vessels.
In 2018, APS had already completed the recovery and structural reinforcement of the quay between warehouses 12A and 23 in Section 3 of the Port of Santos navigation channel, known as the Outeirinhos quay, over a length of 1,700
meters, preparing the area for dredging.
In December 2023, a contract was signed with the company Náutica Marítima Serviços, the winner of the bidding process, which began the dredging in March 2024. The cost was just over R$ 13 million.
With the work completed, APS will conduct a new hydrographic survey and an underwater inspection. The
results will be presented to the Ports Captaincy of São Paulo (CPSP) for the approval of the new operational
draft.
