Qatar opens market for goat and sheep meat from Brazil

The Brazilian government welcomed Qatar’s decision to open up its market to Brazilian goat and sheep meat exports following the approval of an International Sanitary Certificate.
From January to September this year, Brazil exported approximately USD 200 million in agricultural products to Qatar, with about 90% of that total consisting of animal proteins, primarily poultry and beef.
The Qatari market’s acceptance of Brazilian goat and sheep meat—products with growing international demand—will further diversify the countries’ trade portfolio.
This development marks the 182nd market opening for Brazilian agribusiness this year, bringing the total to 260 new market entries across 61 destinations since the beginning of 2023.
These achievements are the result of a collaborative effort between Brazil’s Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (Mapa) and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MRE).
