Oct, 22, 2024 Posted by Gabriel MalheirosWeek 202441
The Brazilian government celebrated Saudi Arabia’s decision to open its market to Brazilian exports of flowers and hay. This marks the third market access Brazil has gained in Saudi Arabia this year. In March, Saudi Arabia authorized imports of vegetable seeds, followed by live poultry in August.
From January to September 2024, Brazil exported around US$2 billion worth of farming products to Saudi Arabia, making it the 15th largest destination for Brazilian agribusiness exports.
This latest achievement brings the total number of new market openings for Brazilian agribusiness in 2024 to 184, and 262 since the start of 2023, covering 61 different destinations. These advancements are the result of coordinated efforts between Brazil’s Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (Mapa) and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MRE).
