Anec Raises Projections for December Exports of Soybeans, Corn, and Soybean Meal

As of November 2024, Brazil exported 95.89 million tons of soybeans, marking a 3.78% decrease compared to the same period in 2023.

The National Association of Cereal Exporters (Anec) has revised its export estimates for December’s Brazilian soybeans, corn, and soybean meal. The forecast for soybeans has been adjusted to 1.62 million tons, an increase of 330,000 tons compared to the previous projection of 1.29 million tons.

Corn exports were also revised upward, reaching 4.09 million tons, an increase of 130,000 tons over last week’s estimate of 3.96 million tons. For soybean meal, the projection was adjusted to 2.17 million tons, representing an increase of 270,000 tons from the earlier estimate of 1.90 million tons.

According to port schedules, between December 15 and 21, Brazilian ports are expected to ship 698,500 tons of soybeans, 548,900 tons of soybean meal, and 1 million tons of corn. Wheat shipments for the week are estimated at 95,700 tons.

From January to November 2024, Brazil exported:

95.89 million tons of soybeans, a 3.78% decrease compared to the 99.59 million tons exported during the same period in 2023.

34.02 million tons of corn, a 30.72% decline compared to the 49.10 million tons exported last year.

As of November 2023, 20.95 million tons of soybean meal had been exported, a slight increase of 2.95% over the 20.36 million tons exported.

These upward revisions for December reflect a recovery in exports at the end of the year and underscore Brazil’s continued competitiveness in the global grain market.
