According to the National Association of Grain Exporters (Anec), Brazil exported 97.299 million tonnes of soybeans in 2024, down 3.9% from the 101.312 million tonnes recorded in 2023.
Corn exports significantly declined over the period. The volume exported was 37.811 million tons, a reduction of 31.94 from the 55.559 million tons shipped the previous year.
On the other hand, soybean meal exports grew in 2024, totaling 22.841 million tons, an increase of 2.17% compared to the 22.355 million tons exported in 2023. Wheat also showed positive performance, with shipments rising by 3.52%, from 2.497 million tons in 2023 to 2.585 million tons in 2024.
In the last week of December (December 22–28), Brazilian ports shipped 246,835 tons of soybeans, 243,739 tons of soybean meal, 704,035 tons of corn, and 78,725 tons of wheat.
The schedule projects even larger volumes for the current week (December 29 to January 4): 250,884 tons of soybeans, 571,943 tons of soybean meal, 768,398 tons of corn, and 224,000 tons of wheat.
These figures highlight that, despite declines in some products, such as soybeans and corn, other sectors, like soybean meal and wheat, continue to grow, underscoring the importance of agricultural exports for Brazil’s foreign trade.
