Revenue from Turkey Meat Exports Drop 23.4% in 2024, Reveals Brazil’s ABPA

Brazilian exports of turkey and duck meat, high-value segments of poultry farming, generated USD 165 million in 2024, according to the Brazilian Association of Animal Proteins (ABPA). Both categories experienced a decline in Revenue compared to 2023, with turkey meat falling by 23.4% and duck meat by 12.7%. Revenue from turkey meat exports reached USD 153.9 million, down from USD 201 million in the previous year. In terms of volume, turkey exports dropped by 8.1%, from 69.8 thousand tons in 2023 to 64.1 thousand tons in 2024.
The main destinations for Brazilian turkey meat were Mexico, with 9.8 thousand tons (-39%); South Africa, with 9.5 thousand tons (-27%); and the Netherlands, with 8.6 thousand tons (-20%). Conversely, Chile increased its imports by 56%, reaching 7 thousand tons.
Duck meat exports also saw a revenue decline, from USD 13.7 million in 2023 to USD 11.9 million in 2024. However, the exported volume grew by 1.3%, totaling 3.551 thousand tons. The Middle East was the primary destination for Brazilian duck meat, with the United Arab Emirates leading the way, importing 1.5 thousand tons, a 66% increase. Saudi Arabia imported 893 tons, a 9% decrease, while Chile recorded a significant 94% increase, importing 195 tons.
