Fertilizer Deliveries Fell 0.1% in January

The National Association for Fertilizer Distribution (ANDA) reported that fertilizer deliveries to the Brazilian market totaled 3.69 million tonnes in January 2025. This volume represented a 0.1% decrease compared to the same month in 2024.

The state of Mato Grosso remained the leader in deliveries, accounting for 27.8% of the total, with one million tons. It was followed by Paraná (532,000 tons), Goiás (441,000 tons), Minas Gerais (364,000 tons), and São Paulo (321,000 tonnes).

Domestic Production

The domestic production of intermediate fertilizers ended January 2025 on a high note, reaching 647,000 tonnes. This marked a 21.8% increase compared to the same month in 2024 when 531,000 tons were produced.
Imports

According to ANDA, January saw imports of intermediate fertilizers reach three million tons, a 2.5% increase from the same month in 2024, when 2.93 million tons were imported.

At the Port of Paranaguá, the main entry point for fertilizers, 718,000 tons arrived, representing a 6.3% decrease compared to 2024, when 766,000 tons were unloaded. The terminal accounted for approximately 24% of total imports (source: Siacesp/MDIC).
