The Brazilian Air Force’s Logistics Transportation Center (CTLA) demonstrated its efficiency and coordination capabilities during a high-complexity logistics operation at the Port of Santos (SP). The mission involved the unloading, customs clearance, and overland transport of aircraft equipment imported by the Brazilian Aeronautics Commission in Washington, D.C. (CABW), destined for Brazilian Air Force (FAB) units.
The cargo, consisting of two aircraft components, totaled 15,300.74 kilograms and 11.326 cubic meters in volume, as recorded in the cargo manifest. CTLA coordinated the entire reception process at the port, ensuring the unloading occurred swiftly and safely at one of the country’s leading logistics hubs.
Following arrival, attention turned to meeting legal requirements for customs clearance. According to the Chief of Operations Division, Major Aviator Renato Marques Di Barros, the mission’s success resulted from precise and coordinated efforts. “CTLA acted proactively, overcoming bureaucratic challenges and ensuring the materials were cleared within established deadlines and regulations. Efficiency in this stage was crucial to keeping the mission on schedule,” he stated.
With the cargo cleared, overland transport occurred from March 17 to 22. The route included movements between CTLA, the São Paulo Aeronautical Material Park (PAMA-SP), the Port of Santos, and the São Paulo Air Base (BASP).
Two “GENIE” aerial work platforms were among the equipment transported, which required specific logistics planning due to their size and features. Their transport was carried out overnight, between 11:30 p.m. and 7:40 a.m., using flatbed trucks and in strict compliance with the FAB’s safety protocols.
This mission reinforces CTLA’s role as a vital link in the Brazilian Air Force’s logistics chain. Its ability to coordinate the reception, customs clearance, and transport of strategic materials ensures the necessary support for air operations and directly contributes to the FAB’s institutional mission.
