Revenue up 29% as total beef exports exceed 300 thousand tons again in April

With improved prices, total revenue from beef exports in April—including fresh beef, processed products, edible offal, and others—rose 29%, reaching US$1.363 billion. Export volume increased by 22%, surpassing 300 thousand tons shipped for the first time this year.
The data comes from the Brazilian Association of Meatpackers (ABRAFRIGO), which compiled figures from Secex, part of the Ministry of Development, Industry, Trade and Services (MDIC). The monthly record remains October 2024, with 319,289 tons shipped. In April 2025, Brazil exported 306,780 tons—the fourth time the country has surpassed this mark. In April 2024, Brazil exported 252,295 tons, generating US$1.055 billion in revenue.
According to Abrafrigo, revenue reached US$4.644 billion in the first four months of 2025, a 23% increase compared to the same period last year. Export volume totaled 1,052,809 tons, up 14%. In 2024, the four-month cumulative was 923,952 tons, with revenue of US$3.764 billion.

China, Brazil’s main customer, increased its purchases by 2%, importing 386,468 tons and generating US$1.884 billion in revenue (+12.4%). In the same period of 2024, China bought 377,989 tons, generating US$1.677 billion. The average price per ton rose from US$4,410 in 2024 to US$4,876 in 2025. China’s share of total export revenue dropped from 44.6% in 2024 to 40.6% in 2025, as new markets expanded their purchases.
The United States, Brazil’s second-largest importer, significantly increased its purchases: in 2024, it bought 134,149 tons, generating US$ 397.7 million. In 2025, imports rose to 247,145 tons (+84.2%), with revenue of US$ 863 million (+117%). As a result, the U.S. share of Brazil’s total beef export revenue increased from 10.6% in 2024 to 18.6% in 2025. The average price per ton rose from US$ 2,965 to US$ 3,492.
Chile was the third-largest buyer of Brazilian beef. In 2024 it imported 28,040 tons during the four months, increasing to 39,608 tons in 2025 (+41.3%). Revenue rose from US$131.2 million in 2024 to US$211.9 million in 2025 (+61.5%). In fourth place was Algeria, which imported 20,164 tons in 2024 (US$92.1 million) and 24,985 tons in 2025 (+23.9%), generating US$133 million (+44.4%).
114 countries increased their imports, while 42 countries reduced their purchases.
