The Santos Port Authority (APS) closed in April 2025 with a net profit of R$ 74.7 million, driven by strong financial investment returns and reduced dredging costs.
In the first four months of the year, the Port of Santos recorded a net profit of R$ 70.9 million, despite being impacted by a settlement with the port workers’ pension fund, Portus. Without this extraordinary expense, accumulated profit would have reached R$ 273.2 million—up 7.9% compared to the same period in 2024.

In addition to the final result, APS reported robust operational indicators for the four months. Gross revenue totaled R$178.3 million, a 12% increase from the R$158.9 million recorded in the same period of 2024. Another highlight was the financial result, which reached R$37.4 million—a 172% jump compared to R$13.8 million in the same period last year.
EBITDA totaled R$ 92.9 million, up 17% from R$ 79.4 million in 2024, with an EBITDA margin of 59.0%, 2.3 percentage points higher than the 56.7% margin a year earlier. Operating profit reached R$ 125.2 million, a significant 41% increase over the R$ 89 million posted in 2024.
Consolidated Results: Santos + Itajaí
Considering APS’s consolidated performance, which includes the Itajaí Port branch in Santa Catarina, net profit for April totaled R$ 93.4 million. Strong financial returns, savings on dredging, and the positive performance of the Itajaí unit, which posted R$ 18.8 million in profit for the month, were key contributing factors.
From January through April 2025, consolidated net profit reached R$106.1 million. Excluding the impact of the Portus settlement, that figure would have been R$308.4 million, representing a 21.8% increase compared to the same period in 2024.
“The numbers speak for themselves and reflect the efforts of the Santos Port Authority team to deliver excellent management results. We are grateful for the continued support of the Federal Government’s Ministry of Ports and Airports in achieving performance that strengthens the public administration of the largest port in the Southern Hemisphere,” said APS President Anderson Pomini.
