Paraguay Wins Approval to Export Eggs to Singapore, Eyes Chile Next

Paraguay has received authorization to export domestically produced eggs to Singapore, with shipments expected to begin in the coming days.

The confirmation came from José Martin Camperchioli, president of the National Animal Health and Quality Service (Senacsa), who emphasized that the product approval process had been completed following efforts spurred by President Santiago Peña Nieto’s recent visit to Singapore.

“The inclusion of our eggs in the Singaporean market, along with our meats, strengthens Paraguay’s credibility in terms of animal health. It is the result of rigorous and ongoing work that allows us to access highly demanding markets such as Singapore, the United States, and Canada,” said Martin.

Singapore represents a potential market worth USD 900 million for Paraguay’s agricultural and livestock production. On May 23, the authorization for beef, pork, and poultry shipments was confirmed during the first day of President Peña’s official visit to the Asian country.

In addition to Singapore, Senacsa is in advanced negotiations to export Paraguayan products to other markets. Exports to Chile are expected to materialize in the coming days, further expanding the country’s trade horizons.
