Imported Vehicle Sales Rise 7.5% in May

The ten brands affiliated with Abeifa (Brazilian Association of Importers and Manufacturers of Motor Vehicles) recorded a 7.5% increase in sales in May compared to March, when 10,660 units were sold. Compared to May 2024, the increase was 48.4%, totaling 11,461 units versus 7,725 vehicles.
For the year-to-date in 2025, including both imported vehicles and locally produced units, Abeifa members reached a total of 49,840 units sold—32% higher than last year’s 37,767 registrations.
From January to May, the number of electrified vehicles registered reached 46,047, accounting for 49.7% of the total 92,743 units registered during the period.
The total of 11,461 units—combining imports and local production—represents a 5.3% market share for Abeifa-affiliated brands within the overall light vehicle market (214,382 units).
