First Private Export Processing Zone in Brazil Moves Forward

With the approval of the boundary change by the Federal Government, ZPE Aracruz — Brazil’s first private Export Processing Zone — strengthens its strategically privileged geographic position.

The facility is situated near major ports, just 12 km from Imetame Logística Port, the regional airport, and the Piraqueaçu railway branch (EFVM), with direct access to highways ES-010 and BR-101.

Aiming to enhance its logistical integration, ZPE Aracruz will streamline customs procedures, reduce operational costs, and increase competitiveness for exporting businesses.

Companies setting up in ZPE Aracruz will enjoy significant advantages, including special tax, foreign exchange, and administrative treatment, along with incentives from Sudene (Superintendency for the Development of the Northeast).

These benefits apply to both domestic and international purchases of goods or services for investment (Capex) and routine operational expenses (Opex).
