The Suape Industrial Port Complex, in partnership with Porto Digital, will host a strategic meeting aimed at bringing Pernambuco’s innovation ecosystem closer to the companies operating within the state-run territory.
The initiative seeks to enhance business competitiveness by connecting startups and tech-based companies specialized in industrial digital transformation solutions.
During the event, participants will gain access to success stories, applied technologies, and solutions developed by startups, as well as the opportunity to engage directly with representatives from the innovation sector. The goal is to identify partnerships, optimize processes, reduce operational costs, and boost productivity for companies located within the area managed by the port authority.
This action is part of the agenda of Suape’s Innovation and Digital Transformation Department, which is developing a series of initiatives aimed at modernizing the complex’s technology. Among them is the establishment of the Innovation Committee, comprising representatives from the port authority and local industry, which aims to promote digitalization and the adoption of emerging technologies in the region.
“We are working to make Suape increasingly innovative by promoting concrete solutions that strengthen the competitiveness of our industries. The creation of the Innovation Committee and the organization of initiatives like this meeting are strategic actions to connect real challenges with solutions already developed by the Government of Pernambuco, aligned with our mission to contribute to the state’s sustainable development,” said Suape’s Executive Director, Armando Monteiro Bisneto.
Promoting innovation is one of the pillars of the port authority’s management. In April of this year, during the 29th edition of Intermodal South America, Suape launched a national open innovation call, inviting companies, startups, and technology specialists to propose solutions focused on tangible results for public administration and the port sector.
The call marked an unprecedented step in the industry: Suape became the first public port in Brazil to issue a public call for proposals through a Public Contract for Innovative Solutions (CPSI), reaffirming its commitment to open innovation, digital transformation, and modernizing its port infrastructure. A total of 58 solutions were submitted by companies from 13 states.
“The strong participation from proposers across all regions of the country demonstrates the significance of this initiative for the port sector and consolidates Suape as a benchmark in public management focused on innovation,” stated Adriana Martin, Suape’s Director of Innovation and Digital Transformation.
