A high-end shipment arrived at the Port of Itajaí on Friday (25). More than 300 BMW vehicles were unloaded from the Liberian-flagged vessel Goodwood. The terminal is considered one of the main entry points for the automotive sector in Brazil.
Among the imported models are the M3 Competition, 420i, 220, and M2, with car prices ranging from R$300,000 to R$1 million. In addition to the BMWs, the shipment also included units of the Mini Cooper.
With streamlined operations and modern infrastructure, the Port of Itajaí maintains a strategic position in international trade, becoming a key hub for handling luxury vehicles.
“We continue working to consolidate the port as a national reference for high-value-added cargo, boosting our competitiveness and attracting investments that drive the local and regional economy,” said João Paulo Tavares Bastos, superintendent of the Port of Itajaí.
Luxury BMW shipment generates ISS revenue
This type of cargo drives specialized logistics services, generating Service Tax (ISS) revenue for the city — funds that can be invested in community cultural and sports projects.
The arrival of luxury vehicles at the Port of Itajaí has become a regular operation. On July 7, another shipment of nearly 800 BMW luxury cars was unloaded at the city’s port.
