Companhia Docas de Santana (CDSA) recorded this week the first shipment of ilmenite from the Port of Santana, in Amapá. A total of 10,500 tonnes of the mineral were loaded onto the Puerto Rican-flagged cargo ship Devbulk Sínem, bound for China.

The cargo originated from Porto Velho (RO) and underwent transshipment at the terminal, adhering to all technical standards and obtaining authorization from the relevant authorities. Ilmenite, which has high commercial value, is used in the production of paints, plastics, cosmetics, aerospace metal alloys, and chemical reactors.

As part of the Northern Arc, the Port of Santana has experienced record cargo volumes in recent years, primarily driven by the export of agricultural commodities. Between 2022 and 2024, CDSA achieved successive records, and the outlook for 2025 indicates further growth, particularly in the shipment of solid bulk cargoes, such as soy.
