Brazil’s wheat imports up 20% in 12 months as prices continue to fall

Brazilian wheat imports remained high in July, with the 12-month accumulated volume exceeding the previous period by nearly 20%. Meanwhile, a survey by Cepea shows that domestic wheat prices continue to face downward pressure, in line with trends observed in the international market.

In July, Brazil imported 616.91 thousand tonnes of wheat, up 26.7% from June 2025 but 4.3% lower than in July 2024, according to Secex data analyzed by the research center. Between August 2024 and July 2025, Brazil imported 6.83 million tonnes of wheat, a volume 19.9% higher than the 5.69 million tonnes recorded between August 2023 and July 2024.
