Brazil opens new agricultural export markets in Costa Rica amid trade expansion

The Brazilian and Costa Rican governments have concluded sanitary and phytosanitary negotiations allowing Brazil to export bovine by-products intended for animal feed and popcorn corn to Costa Rica.
In 2024, Brazil exported more than US$272 million in agricultural products to Costa Rica, with highlights including cereals, flours and preparations, as well as items from the soy complex.
With this announcement, Brazil has reached 419 market openings since the beginning of 2023.
These results are the outcome of joint efforts by the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (Mapa) and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MRE).
