The Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock announced on Tuesday (2) that it has concluded a tariff negotiation with Japan for the export of products made from poultry, pork, and bovine fat.
These products are used in the manufacture of animal feed and pet food. According to the ministry, the authorization “expands Brazil’s presence in one of the most demanding markets in the world.”
Brazil is already one of the largest suppliers of soy and corn to the Japanese market.
With a population of 125 million, Japan is the third-largest economy in the world and the seventh-largest destination for Brazilian agricultural products in 2024. Exports to Japan totaled US$3.3 billion last year. From January to July 2025, sales have already reached US$1.8 billion.
In total, 422 new markets have been opened for Brazilian agricultural products under the current administration.
