Brazil’s egg exports jump 72% in August, says ABPA

Brazilian egg exports (including fresh and processed products) totaled 2,129 tonnes in August 2025, according to data from the Brazilian Animal Protein Association (ABPA). The volume was 71.9% higher than in the same month last year, when shipments reached 1,239 tonnes.

Revenue from shipments in August reached US$5.729 million, up 90.8% compared with the same period in 2024, when it totaled US$3.003 million.

With this result, exports between January and August reached 32,303 tonnes, an increase of 192.2% compared with the same period last year (11,057 tonnes). Revenue for the year so far reached US$75.295 million, up 214.5% from the US$23.943 million recorded in the same interval in 2024.

In August, the main export destinations were Japan, with 578 tonnes (+328.5%), followed by the United States, with 439 tonnes (+628.9%), Mexico, with 304 tonnes (no comparable shipments last year), the United Arab Emirates, with 182 tonnes (no shipments in the same month last year), and Chile, with 172 tonnes (–79.6%).

“Exports to the United States were affected by the tariff hike, which reduced shipment volumes in the month. At the same time, we are seeing the return of destinations such as the United Arab Emirates and growth in new importers, including Mexico. In any case, no significant impact is expected on the domestic supply of eggs, as exports account for less than 2% of our production,” said ABPA president Ricardo Santin.
