Paraná recorded the highest percentage growth in turkey exports in Brazil during the first seven months of the year. Shipments rose 5.5% in volume, in contrast to the country’s overall decline of 11%. In revenue, Paraná saw a 21.3% increase, far outpacing the 2.5% national rise.

According to Agrostat Brasil, the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock’s foreign trade monitoring platform, Brazilian companies exported 30,141 tonnes of turkey between January and July 2025, generating US$81.83 million. In the same period last year, exports totaled 33,851 tonnes and US$83.91 million.

“Brazil is not one of the world’s largest turkey producers, but the activity plays a significant role both domestically and in exports,” noted veterinarian Roberto Carlos Andrade e Silva in the Agribusiness Outlook Bulletin, published by the Department of Rural Economics (Deral), for the week of September 5–11.

Paraná is the country’s third-largest producer and exporter, but it was the only state to increase export volumes compared to the first seven months of 2024. Last year, the state shipped 7,244 tonnes abroad, generating US$17.93 million. This year, exports reached 7,642 tonnes worth US$21.75 million.

Santa Catarina, Brazil’s leading turkey producer, cut volumes by 8.5%, from 14,537 tonnes to 13,300, though it recorded an 8.9% increase in revenue, from US$35.52 million to US$38.69 million. Rio Grande do Sul reduced shipments by 25.6%, from 12,051 tonnes to 8,962, and revenue by 31.4%, from US$30.38 million to US$20.83 million.

Mexico was the top destination for Brazilian turkey in the January–July period, with 4,529 tonnes, followed by Chile (3,129 tonnes), South Africa (2,734 tonnes), the Netherlands (2,062 tonnes), and Peru (2,039 tonnes).
