Week 202541

According to data from the National Association for Fertilizer Diffusion (Anda), deliveries of fertilizers to the agricultural sector totaled 20.14 million tonnes between January and June, representing a 10.5% increase compared to the 18.23 million tonnes in the same period in 2024. In June alone, 4.31 million tonnes were distributed, 7.2% above the volume recorded in the same month last year.

The growth reflects producers’ preparations for the grain harvest, estimated at 345.2 million tonnes, and underscores the importance of efficient logistics in ensuring a stable supply in the field.

Mato Grosso leads distribution, followed by southern and southeastern states
Mato Grosso consolidated its leadership among the states, accounting for 23.9% of total deliveries in the first half, equivalent to 4.81 million tonnes. Paraná (2.88 million), Goiás (2 million), São Paulo (2 million), Minas Gerais (1.69 million), Rio Grande do Sul (1.50 million), and Bahia (1.2 million) complete the ranking.

The concentration of production in the Center-West and South highlights the significance of these regions in supplying Brazil’s agricultural sector on a large scale.

Domestic production and imports of intermediate fertilizers
Domestic production of intermediate fertilizers grew 8.9% in the first half, reaching 3.51 million tonnes, despite a slight 1.8% decline in June (609,000 tonnes).

Imports also advanced, totaling 18.47 million tonnes in the semester, up 10.3% from the same period in 2024, despite a 2.4% decline in June.

The Port of Paranaguá, in Paraná, remained the main entry point, with 4.87 million tonnes unloaded between January and June, representing a 9.9% increase and accounting for 26.4% of total national imports.

The sector enters the second half prepared for the harvest
With robust domestic deliveries, expanding domestic production, and growing imports, the fertilizer sector enters the second half of 2025 in favorable conditions to supply the 2025/26 grain harvest. The market’s progress reflects strategies that combine logistics efficiency, expansion of domestic production, and diversification of external input sources.
