Brazil sets record in soybean meal exports and expands destinations in the international market

Data from Secex analyzed by Cepea show that, from January to October, Brazil exported 19.6 million tonnes of soybean meal, a record for the period.
According to the research center, demand is heated, especially from new countries and/or less traditional destinations, such as Spain, Denmark, Bangladesh and Portugal.
In Brazil, buyers are also more active in purchasing the derivative. As for soybeans, in the partial result for this year, the country shipped 100.6 million tonnes, 6.7% higher than the volume shipped in the same period of 2024.
Of this total, 78.8 million tonnes were sent to China, according to Secex data analyzed by Cepea. In the field, widespread rains have benefited agricultural activities in much of Brazil.
According to Conab, soybean planting reached 47.1% of the estimated area as of November 1, below the 53.3% observed in the same period of 2024 and the five-year average of 54.7%.
