TCP sets all-time monthly record for container throughput in October

The TCP, the company that operates the Paranaguá Container Terminal, recorded the highest monthly volume in its history in October, with 148,690 TEUs handled — surpassing the previous record (145,513 TEUs) set in September of this year. The result reflects the consistent performance of refrigerated cargo exports (reefer), especially shipments of beef and chicken, reinforcing the Terminal’s role as the main export corridor for animal protein in the country.
In October, 13,817 refrigerated containers were handled, the third-largest volume ever recorded by TCP, confirming the segment’s growth trend throughout 2025. Between January and October, beef shipments through the Terminal totaled 29,966 boxes, equivalent to 59,766 TEUs and 838 thousand tonnes — an increase of approximately 50% compared with the same period in 2024.
The October result consolidates a sequence of operational records in 2025, with historic marks also registered in March, May, and September, highlighting the constant rise in cargo movement through the Terminal.

In addition, TCP’s performance exceeds the national average: according to the Brazilian Association of Beef Exporting Industries (ABIEC), Brazilian beef exports grew 16.6% in the same period, reaching 2.79 million tonnes. This means that around 30% of all beef exported by Brazil between January and October 2025 passed through TCP.
“Meat exports continue to be one of the driving forces of TCP’s cargo flow. Our Terminal combines operational efficiency, storage capacity and logistical integration, which allows us to keep pace with the growth of Brazilian exports and ensure quality and agility in shipments,” says Giovanni Guidolim, commercial, logistics and customer service manager at TCP.
With 5,268 plugs for refrigerated containers, the Terminal has the largest reefer yard in South America, prepared to simultaneously handle large volumes of temperature-controlled cargo. In addition, the direct rail connection to the bonded area — the only one in Southern Brazil — increases logistical competitiveness and ensures greater efficiency in the export flow of cargo from the state’s interior.
“TCP is prepared to sustain the continuous growth of exports, and the October result confirms the success of the investments made in infrastructure, automation and energy, in addition to the company’s commitment to efficiency and sustainability in operations,” Guidolim concludes.
