The National Waterway Transport Agency (ANTAQ) approved, during a board meeting last Thursday (4), the documentation submitted by the Suape Port Authority regarding the tender for area SUA01, located at the Port of Suape (PE).
The port signed a delegation agreement on competencies in 2022 and, as a result, can conduct leasing processes for port terminals. The port authority will also be responsible for managing future procedures.
The area will receive Roll-on/Roll-off (Ro-Ro) vessels, which are designed to transport “rolling” cargo, such as vehicles (cars, trucks, buses), that enter and exit the ship by driving up and down ramps. Cargo will be handled and stored at the terminal.
The estimated investment in the concession is R$4.6 million over the 25-year contract. A public hearing and consultation were waived due to the project’s low value.
The terminal covers an area of 101,400 m², fully paved with rigid concrete. In addition to the rigid pavement, existing structures in the area will be made available, such as fencing, lighting, electrical installations, guardhouses, a drainage network, and other infrastructure.
