The Paraná Institute for Economic and Social Development (Ipardes) released on Wednesday (10) the November report on Paraná’s trade balance, based on data from the Ministry of Development, Industry, Trade and Services (MDIC). One highlight is that nine goods produced in Paraná recorded significant export growth from January to November 2025, compared with the same period last year.

Among these products, cereals stand out, with external sales rising from US$478 million to US$1 billion, an increase of around 109%. Following a similar trajectory, the state’s exports of fresh beef rose 63%, jumping from US$114 million in the first eleven months of 2024 to US$187 million in 2025.

In addition to these two products, there were also significant increases in exports of fresh pork (41.2%), taps and valves (41%), tractors (38%), automobiles (37%), cargo vehicles (34.4%), crude soybean oil (34%), and soluble coffee (32%). The figures show the breadth of the dynamism in the state’s foreign sales, ranging from agricultural commodities to highly technology-intensive industrial items.

According to Ipardes’ CEO, Jorge Callado, the diversification of Paraná’s exports is a result of the state’s production structure growing in strength. “We see an expansion in exports of certain agribusiness products alongside strong growth in sales of high-value-added goods, such as those in the automotive segment, which is largely due to the state’s investment attraction policy,” he said.

The Secretary of Planning, Ulisses Maia, highlights the wide range of exported items, which makes Paraná’s foreign trade less vulnerable to global fluctuations. “Even in the face of increased tariff barriers by the United States, we achieved very significant results in foreign trade, demonstrating the competence of the state’s exporters,” he said.

BALANCE – From January to November, Paraná exported US$21.6 billion in goods, the sixth-highest total in Brazil and the best in the South. The main products were soybeans (US$4.3 billion), fresh chicken meat (US$3.2 billion), soybean meal (US$1.1 billion), raw sugar (US$1 billion), and cereals (US$999 million).

The main export destinations for products from Paraná were China (US$4.9 billion), Argentina (US$1.7 billion), the U.S. (US$1.1 billion), and Mexico (US$837 million). Another factor was trade growth with several countries, including Argentina (59.5% compared with the same period last year), Iran (47.7%), the United Arab Emirates (35.9%), Paraguay (6.5%), Chile (2.6%), and Peru (9.1%).

Through November, Paraná’s trade balance posted a surplus of US$2.6 billion, reflecting US$21.6 billion in exports and US$18.8 billion in imports (mainly fertilizers, auto parts, oils and fuels, and pharmaceutical products).
