The Brazilian government has concluded phytosanitary negotiations with Morocco, Iraq, and Singapore for the export of hay, and with Argentina for onion bulbs, expanding market access for agribusiness products. The announcement was made by the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock in an official statement.

Morocco, Iraq, and Singapore will use Brazilian hay for animal feed, a strategic input for livestock supply chains that depend on a regular supply of forage. In 2024, Brazil’s exports to these three markets totaled approximately US$ 3.8 billion, with Iraq leading purchases and accounting for US$ 1.78 billion of that total.

Argentina, in turn, imported more than US$ 1.5 billion in Brazilian agricultural products this year, with cocoa and cocoa products, coffee, and meats standing out.

With these new agreements, Brazilian agribusiness has reached 525 market openings since the beginning of 2023, according to the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock.
