Brazilian exports to the European Union rise 3.2% in 2025

Brazilian exports to the European Union increased 3.2% in 2025, reaching US$ 49.810 billion, up from US$ 48.276 billion in 2024. Imports from the bloc grew at a faster pace, rising 6.4% last year to US$ 50.290 billion, compared with US$ 47.260 billion in 2024.
As a result, Brazil posted a trade deficit of US$ 480 million with the European bloc in 2025, a year in which the signing of the EU-Mercosur trade agreement had been expected. The figures were released on Tuesday (6) by Brazil’s Foreign Trade Secretariat (Secex) of the Ministry of Development, Industry, Trade and Services.

In December alone, the month in which the signing of the agreement ultimately failed to materialize, Brazilian imports of European products jumped 39.0%, totaling US$ 4.288 billion, up from US$ 3.083 billion in December 2024.
Imports from the European Union also rose in December, increasing 9.7% year on year to US$ 4.013 billion, compared with US$ 3.658 billion in the same month of 2024.
