More than 1,800 trucks have entered the Port of Concepción del Uruguay in recent days, moving cargo for bulk and timber export shipments and building stocks of corn and rice, the port authority for the Entre Ríos terminal, EAPCU, said.
The vessel Manta Hatice (IMO 9338565) docked on Sunday, April 12, at berths 14, 15 and 16 and is set to load 10,000 tonnes of poultry and pig feed bound for several Central American markets, EAPCU said.
The shipment is being carried out by Entre Ríos Crushing and the Asociación de Cooperativas Argentinas (ACA) as producer and exporter, with loading logistics handled by Urcel Argentina, the authority said.
EAPCU said the operation is part of an export program planned by Entre Ríos Crushing and ACA from Concepción del Uruguay to Europe and Central America to be executed this year.
The port is also continuing to stockpile pine and eucalyptus logs for shipment to India, EAPCU said, adding that another ocean-going vessel is scheduled to arrive on Saturday, April 18.
For that operation, the port is filling storage yards at the southern end of the terminal while supplying additional areas designated for timber storage at sites around the city’s outskirts, the authority said.
