Argentina’s wool exports rise 57% in 2025/26 season

Argentina’s wool exports totaled US$149.5 million from July through April in the 2025/26 marketing season, up 57% from the same period a year earlier, the Secretariat of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries said.
Exports also increased by volume, reaching 31,825 tonnes, a 23.5% rise from the 2024/25 season.
The figures point to a sustained recovery in Argentina’s wool sector and a stronger position for the country’s wool supply chain in international markets.
The 2025/26 season also shows a shift in demand for Argentine wool. China increased its share of export value to 33%, up from 23% in the previous season.
April was particularly strong, with wool exports rising 70% year on year. The increase reflected renewed trade momentum and stronger demand for Argentine wool products, partly offsetting lower output, especially in Australia.
