Brazilian logistics company VLI handled a record 12.4 million net metric tons of grains and meal products in the first half of 2026, up 7.9% from the same period last year.
The company, which operates an integrated network of railways, ports and inland terminals, said the result was its highest ever for a first half.
Performance was also supported by a record second quarter. VLI transported 7.9 million net metric tons of grains and meals between April and June, an 8% increase from the second quarter of 2025 and the company’s strongest result for the period.
“The results reinforce VLI’s role as a strategic partner to Brazil’s agribusiness supply chains, providing integrated logistics solutions that support the efficient movement of harvests and strengthen the sector’s competitiveness,” said Carolina Hernandez, VLI’s director of commercial operations, projects and strategic planning.
“We are proud to support industries that are essential to Brazil’s economic development, such as agribusiness, and we will continue working to strengthen the country’s production chains,” she added.
The cargo moved through VLI’s three largest logistics corridors.
The Northern Corridor connects producing regions in Matopiba—an agricultural frontier spanning parts of Maranhão, Tocantins, Piauí and Bahia—and Brazil’s Center-West with the São Luís Port Terminal in Maranhão.
The Eastern Corridor serves production centers in Minas Gerais and Espírito Santo, providing access to port terminals along the Espírito Santo coast.
The Southeastern Corridor links agricultural areas in the Center-West with the Port of Santos, Brazil’s largest port complex.
