Log-In acquires vessel for cabotage on South Atlantic service

Log-In – Logística Intermodal S.A. reported that its subsidiary Log-In International GmbH (“Log-In GmbH”), headquartered in Austria, concluded the purchase on March 5 of a container vessel. It was bought from Lomar Shipping for US$13.1 million. The vessel, to be named Log-In Endurance, has a nominal capacity of 2,800 TEU and was built at the Chinese shipyard Guangzhou Wenchong.  It will be registered in the Brazilian Special Registry (“REB”) to be part of the company’s fleet and the Brazilian Merchant Navy , dedicated to cabotage. The vessel is forecast to begin operations in May 2020.

The vessel will serve Log-In’s South Atlantic Service (SAS) line, replacing the other vessel chartered by Log-In. According to the company, the acquisition of the vessel is part of its business plan to expland its fleet through effective management of its strategic assets, with a focus on operational excellence, contributing to the development of Brazilian cabotage as well as to strengthen the Brazilian Merchant Navy.
