Maersk issued a statement to its customers that there was an improvement in availability of reefer plugs at Chinese ports in Shanghai, Ningbo and Xingang that had been compromised in recent months as a result of the coronavirus.
As a result, Maersk opted to withdraw the congestion charge (CFD) that was in place for all cargo sent to Shanghai, Ningbo and Xingang. According to the statement, this will be effective for shipments based on the price base calculated from March 23, 2020.
