CMA CGM implements surcharge on reefer containers from ECSA bound for Bangladesh

CMA CGM informed its customers that due to the problem of permanent congestion when docking at Bangladesh, which causes interruptions to services that generate high operating costs, and in order to maintain the quality of its service, as of May 10, 2020 (according to the BL date), it will levy a surcharge (Port Congestion Surcharge) on reefer cargo coming from the East Coast of South America (ECSA) to Chittagong. According to the company, the surcharge is US$1300 per container.
