OOCL, part of COSCO, introduces TLA1 service between Far East and East Coast South America

Hong Kong-based Orient Overseas Container Line, OOCL introduces its new Asia – East Coast South America service Transpacific Latin Atlantic 1 (TLA1). The first vessel will be the CMA CGM Jacques Junior departing from Shanghai on December 30. The new service will provide direct calls to strategic ports in South America, such as Santos, Rio De Janeiro, Montevideo and Buenos Aires.

Little is yet known publicly about the carriers that will operate in the service, although clearly the COSCO group is operating via its subsidiary OOCL and CMA CGM will also be taking part. More information will become available in the next few days.

Below is the port rotation for the TLA1 service:

Shanghai – Ningbo – Yantian – Hong Kong – Singapore – Rio De Janeiro – Santos – Paranagua – Navegantes – Montevideo – Buenos Aires – Rio Grande – Navegantes – Paranagua – Santos – Singapore – Hong Kong – Shanghai – Ningbo – Yantian

OOCL introduces its new Asia – South America East Coast product, namely the Transpacific Latin Atlantic 1 (TLA1) from December 2018. Company’s new product will provide customers with competitive and reliable services between the Far East and South America East Coast with direct calls to strategic ports such as Santos, Rio De Janeiro (Brazil), Montevideo (Uruguay) and Buenos Aires (Argentina).

PORT ROTATIONS
• Transpacific Latin Atlantic 1 (TLA1): Shanghai – Ningbo – Yantian – Hong Kong – Singapore – Rio De Janeiro – Santos – Paranagua – Navegantes – Montevideo – Buenos Aires – Rio Grande – Navegantes – Paranagua – Santos – Singapore – Hong Kong – Shanghai – Ningbo – Yantian

COMMENCEMENT OF SERVICE
• TLA1: effective with the CMA CGM JACQUES JUNIOR departing from Shanghai on December 30
Also, OOCL introduces its Intra-America product, namely the Intra-America Pacific 1 (IAP1) from January 2019. The new product will provide customers with competitive and reliable services between east coast of United States and west coast of South America via Colon with calls to strategic ports such as Buenaventura (Colombia), Guayaquil (Ecuador), Callao (Peru), Arica, Iquique and San Antonio (Chile). The new service is supported by ECC2 on the southbound and ECC1, ECC2 and ECX1 on the northbound.

• Intra-America Pacific 1 (IAP1): Colon – Buenaventura – Guayaquil – Callao – Arica – Iquique – San Antonio – Callao – Guayaquil – Buenaventura – Colon

COMMENCEMENT OF SERVICE
• ECC2 + IAP1: effective with the EVER LIVING departing from Savannah on January 26 and CSCL SAN JOSE transshipping via Colon on February 9
