Maersk is launching its air cargo agency service in Brazil.
According to Mauricio Coelho, Head of Air Freight at Maersk for the East Coast of South America, this is a comprehensive service. “The air freight will serve Maersk’s customers who already operate in other modes and those who only need this solution. Contrary to what some people might think, the service caters to different volume profiles – from smaller shipments to engines, turbines, and oversized cargoes that can be transported by air mode. The service complements the group’s expertise portfolio with an option focused mainly on those who seek shorter transit times. “Operating on commercial cargo and passenger flights, Maersk’s air freight will be the solution in situations with critical deadlines, due to the inherent speed of the modal”, explains Mauricio Coelho.
The executive’s expectation is that Maersk will be among the largest air-cargo operators in the coming years, both in Brazil and in other Latin American countries.
“Our great differential is the connectivity with the other modes we offer to customers seeking to simplify their logistics chain”, assesses the Head of Air Freight at Maersk for the East Coast of South America. The transport program will include air loading within the country and on several routes to and from Brazilian airports.
“As with other services offered by Maersk, the company’s air freight customers also have digital tools at their disposal, such as Maersk Flow, MyFinance, and Maersk Spot, available to move and track goods, schedule services, and shipments, and resolve customs issues”, concludes Maurício Coelho.
