Argentine farmers record sales of 23.7m tons of soybeans in 2020/21

Argentine farmers sold 23.7 million tons of soy from the 2020/21 season, the Ministry of Agriculture said on Tuesday in a report using updated data until 30 June.
The pace of sales of the main crop in Argentina is behind the pace of the previous season, when on the same date, sales of 26.3 million tons of oilseeds were recorded, according to official information.
Argentina’s 2020/21 soybean harvest would be 43.5 million tons, according to the Buenos Aires grain exchange (BdeC), which for the 2019/20 season calculated 49 million tons.
Meanwhile, 2021/22 soybean sales have already reached 1 million tons, down from 1.2 million on the same date of the previous season.
Regarding corn, the government stated that sales for the 2020/21 season totaled 32.2 million tons, about 3 million tons more than on the same date as the previous season.
