Week 202131

In the first half of the year, Argentina shipped a total of 48.4 million tons of grains, derivatives, and oils, 10.9% less than in the same period in 2020.

According to the ‘Rosário Stock Exchange’, this drop is basically explained by the lower shipment of grains. Between January and June, 27.9 million tons were shipped, 19% less than the volume achieved in the first six months of the previous year.

Shipments of by-products, in turn, also suffered a cut, although to a lesser extent, since 16.5 million tons were shipped, compared to 17 million tons in 2020, ie, a drop of only 2.8%.

But according to the Rosario Stock Exchange, the international demand for vegetable oil exports has remained quite high since the end of last year. In the period under review, 4 million tons were shipped from Argentine port terminals, surpassing 2020 levels (3 million tons) by 37.1%.
