On August 10th, Log-In Logística Intermodal disclosed the financial and operating results obtained in the second quarter. From April to June, net income was R$ 37.5 million against a loss of R$ 14.8 million in the same period last year. The YTD figures at June 30 showed a net income of R$ 16.3 million, surpassing the negative result of R$ 129.4 million registered in the first six months of 2020. The increase is due to the better operational performance of the businesses and lower expenses for exchange variation.
Net Operating Revenue (NOR) and earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization (EBTIDA) also posted significant results in the second quarter. Between the months of April and June, Log-In recorded a growth of 50.4% in revenue, totaling R$ 352.8 million, due to the increase in volume with emphasis on the feeder (+38%), the initial and final voyage for import and export cargo between Log-In port calls. Cabotage results were 20% higher than in the second quarter of 2020, with the greater movement of containers, general cargo, and storage services at the Vila Velha port terminal (TVV).
EBITDA was R$ 93.2 million in the second quarter, an increase of 62% compared to the same period of the previous year. Among the reasons for this increase are an increase in volumes handled and an improvement in the economic scenario compared to the beginning of the pandemic. Other factors that boosted this result were the growth in the volumes containers handled for general cargo and bulk at TVV, and vehicles at TEV, a new vehicle terminal recently implemented by Log-In.
