Port of Vitória registers cargo handling growth for all types of cargo in July

In addition to the record in monthly handling, in July, the Port of Vitória registered an increase in the operation of all types of cargo, growing 23.73% compared to 2020. In the accumulated result for the year, solid bulk was the highlight, with 536,400 tons handled, 42.58% more than last year. The busiest products were coal, with an increase of 123%, and malt, up 57.7%.
Loose general cargo handling saw a significant increase, driven by the 5,081 vehicles unloaded in July. In the accumulated result for the year, handling grew by 23.11%. The handling of vehicles alone grew 64.78% in the period.
Liquid bulk handling also increased. In the accumulated result for the year, 83,200 tons were handled, a growth of 17.72%. The highlights were: caustic soda with an increase of 39.9%, and fuels, up 14%.
Container handling was also positive. From January to July this year, it increased 22.60% compared to the same period in 2020. Another fact that draws attention is the growing increase in the occupancy rate, which has already increased by 29.99% in the accumulated result for the year.
The main places of origin and destination of vessels that dock at the Port of Vitória this month, in addition to Brazil, were: the United States, Argentina, Colombia, and China.
