ABPA: Brazilian mean production and exports will increase in 2021 and 2022

The production and export of Brazilian chicken and pork will end 2021 with significant increases which should be repeated next year, according to ABPA (the Brazilian association of animal protein). The association also indicated an increase in per capita consumption in the domestic market.
Pork indices will have the biggest increases, pointing to a growth of up to 6% in production in 2021 compared to 2020, to up to 4.7 million tons, and another increase of up to 4% in 2022.
The export of pork will increase by up to 12% in 2021, to up to 1.15 million tons. The association projects growth of up to 13% in 2022 exports.
The ABPA also forecasts growth of up to 3.5% in the production of chicken meat in Brazil in 2021 compared to 2020, to up to 14.3 million tons. Exports of the product will increase by up to 7.5% this year, reaching up to 4.55 million tons.
For next year, chicken meat production should grow up to 4.5%, while exports up to 3.5%.
The organization also reported positive figures on per capita consumption, with demand for chicken meat in Brazil increasing up to 1.5% in 2021. Pork consumption is predicted to grow up to 5% this year.
