Biden: Major US ports to operate 24/7 to alleviate bottlenecks
Oct, 16, 2021 Posted by Ruth HollardWeek 202139
On October 13th, the President of the United States, Joe Biden, announced that the country’s main ports, located in Los Angeles and Long Beach, will start operating 24/7 to alleviate bottlenecks in maritime transport.
These logistical problems have reduced the pace of product delivery, which makes production more difficult and generates inflationary pressures.
According to Biden, around 40% of containers arriving in the country pass through these two ports. This measure should therefore speed up the unloading of goods.
