China has authorized three ‌Brazilian meat-packing plants to resume beef shipments following a 2025 suspension, Brazilian industry group Abiec said on Wednesday (20), after officials from both countries met in Beijing.

“This move represents an important achievement for the sector and reinforces China’s confidence in the Brazilian sanitary system and the quality of beef produced in Brazil,” Abiec said in a statement.

Among the ‌plants cleared by the Chinese is the Mozarlandia unit of JBS , the world’s largest meatpacker, Abiec head Roberto Perosa told Reuters.

Brazil is the world’s largest beef exporter, and China its top customer.
