Brazil’s exports to Arab countries up 26% in 2021

Brazil increased exports to the Arab countries by 26% from January to October this year over the same period last year, according to data compiled by the market intelligence department of the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce. Sales revenue was $11.5 billion, against $9.1 billion in the previous period.
Together, the Arab countries were Brazil’s third-largest market abroad, behind only China and the United States. The highlights were the 222.5% increase in exports to Bahrain mainly due to iron ore, with sales at US$ 1.7 billion, and the 117% growth in exports to Oman also due to iron ore, with sales at US$ 1.3 billion.
When taking into account only the level of sales, the United Arab Emirates was the Arab country to which Brazil exported the most, with US$ 1.75 billion, followed by Saudi Arabia, with US$ 1.71 billion, and then Bahrain. Oman and Egypt occupied fourth and fifth positions respectively of the Brazilian market among the Arabs, with US$ 1.35 billion and US$ 1.32 billion.

Iron ore was the product sold to the Arabs that generated the greatest export revenue, with sales of US$ 3.4 billion, followed by sugar with sales of US$ 2.08 billion, and then by chicken with sales of US$ 2 billion, beef with sales of $698 million, and soybeans (opening photo) with sales of $635 million. Only sugar and beef sales fell. Other products saw an increase in exports from January to October.
