Volkswagen truck and bus exports grow
Feb, 03, 2022 Posted by Gabriel MalheirosWeek 202205
Volkswagen finished the year with a very favorable balance: the company exported almost 80% more than the previous year. As a result, it went from 4,680 units to nearly 8,400 vehicles. The market recovery scenario in several countries favored the result, which prompted the automaker to expand its export portfolio.
“The strong growth rates demonstrate the potential we are yet to explore on the international stage. Keeping that in mind, we started 2022 with our internationalization plan in full motion. For the first time, we have an official importer in Asia. We will continue with our strategy of entering new markets both in Brazil and abroad with tailor-made products, differentiated products, and the best operational costs,” says Roberto Cortes, president of VWCO.
Mexico, Chile, and Colombia are among the company’s three largest export markets. Another region that has imported more from VWCO is Central America, where the automaker enacted the highest level of exports due to the new sale strategy adopted.
The Delivery family model was among VWCO’s favorites abroad. The three most commercialized models of the brand are light and semi-light vehicles.
