Wilson Sons believes in the growth potential of operations in the Arco Norte region. In 2021, the company saw expressive growth in maneuvers conducted in the region, making it optimistic towards the next coming years, given the allocation of resources destined for the improvement of port structures and the optimization of cargo flow logistics. According to Antaq data, ‘Arco Norte’ ports have grown more than 25% between 2016 and 2021.
“Investing in more modern infrastructure, such as railways, for example, is fundamental to support major plays in the market. Rail transportation is important for the development of Arco Norte, in addition to being an excellent way to connect ports to the other regions in the country,” says Mateus Melo, regional manager of the Tugboats division.
Among the main cargoes handled by the ports of Arco Norte are iron ore, oil and its derivatives, grains, and fertilizers.
