Log-In negotiates an area with Quadra, the new Codesa lessee

Log-In Logística Intermodal is negotiating with the investment fund Shelf 119 Multiestratégia, owned by Quadra Capital, the company to whom the Federal Government awarded the leasing contract for the Companhia Docas do Espírito Santo (Codesa) last week. Log-In wants to expand its operations in the Port of Vitória, where it currently operates two terminals: one destined for handling containerized cargo and the other for vehicles.
Log-In’s idea is to lease an area in the Port of Vitória to recover and invest from next year. Marcio Arany, president of Log-In, did not wish to go into depth about the project or the investments required for it. However, he confirmed that the company is not ruling out raising funds in the market. Log-In raised a total of R$580 million in debentures in 2021.
See below the main export and import trends, in TEUs, registered in the Port of Vitória between January 2020 and February 2022. The data are from DataLiner.

The company renewed the lease of the Vila Velha Port Terminal in October 2020 for a term of 25 years. The amendment to the contract provides for investments of R$ 82.9 million (R$ 130 million, in updated values) in the terminal to receive larger ships and increase operational efficiency, expanding the terminal’s capacity of 286 thousand containers to 368 thousand containers per year.
With seven container ships currently in operation, Log-In declared that the cabotage market in Brazil was better in the first quarter of this year than in the same period last year. The exception is the Manaus route, which is still operating at the same levels seen four years ago since the electronics firms in the region are still operating in two shifts, with minimal demand.
