Brazil’s soybean exports fell until the 3rd week of April, despite increases in soy oil

According to data from the Foreign Trade Secretariat, released on the 18th, the daily average of soybean exports from Brazil reached 532.5 thousand tonnes in the third week of April, a decrease compared to the 805.7 thousand shipped per day in the same month in 2021.
In the previous week, the pace of shipments had already hinted that the total shipped in the month would decrease, with a daily average of 530.4 thousand tonnes, after a heated first quarter of the year.
As for corn, 23.8 thousand tonnes were shipped per day until the 3rd week of April compared to the daily average of 18.1 thousand in the previous week. A year earlier, the average for the month was 6,500 tonnes per day.
Still on a positive note, the country shipped 407.6 thousand tonnes of soy oil per day, compared to 323.6 thousand in the same month in 2021. These shipments occur at a period of significant increases in the commodity’s international price.
