Brazil to export 43% fewer soybeans in May than it did in 2021

Brazilian exports of soybeans are expected to reach 8.075 million tonnes in May, which greatly differs from the one observed in the same period last year when 14.221 million tonnes were shipped.
In April 2022, Brazil sent 11.354 million tonnes of soybeans abroad. The information comes from the weekly study carried out by the National Association of Cereal Exporters (Anec).
The total export reduction for the year and May (compared to April) should be 43.2% and 28.8%, respectively.
In the week between April 24 and 30, Brazil shipped 2.017 million tonnes. Between May 1st and 7th, Anec expects 2.932 million tonnes in exports.

As for soy bran, shipments are expected to total 1.679 million tonnes in May. The tonnage exported in the same month last year was 1.700 million tonnes. The volume was 1.826 million tonnes in April. Exports reached 514,444 tonnes in April’s last week and 524,659 tonnes in the first week of May.
